ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Regional Manager, Africa to lead regional growth, membership development, strategic partnerships, and stakeholder engagement across African markets.
This is a senior commercial and relationship-focused role for a leader with strong knowledge of African markets, an established regional network, and a proven record of developing business opportunities and partnerships.
You will work closely with employers, government institutions, universities, regulators, professional organisations, and senior business leaders to strengthen regional presence, expand strategic relationships, and drive sustainable growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Regional Growth & Market Development
• Develop and execute regional market plans aligned with organisational objectives.
• Identify and prioritise opportunities for growth across African markets.
• Drive sustainable membership acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
• Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
• Provide market intelligence and performance insights to senior leadership.
Business Development & Partnerships
• Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships across the region.
• Build strong relationships with employers and corporate accounts.
• Develop partnerships with government institutions, regulators, universities, and professional organisations.
• Identify opportunities to expand regional reach, influence, and commercial activity.
• Represent the organisation at relevant industry events, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
• Build trusted relationships with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers.
• Engage effectively with government officials, regulators, academic institutions, and professional bodies.
• Support senior-level stakeholder engagement and strategic relationship development.
• Represent the organisation professionally across the African market.
• Strengthen the organisation's reputation, visibility, and influence across the region.
Regional Delivery
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver regional initiatives, activities, and events.
• Coordinate multiple priorities across different markets.
• Provide regular performance updates, market insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Work independently while maintaining strong alignment with organisational objectives.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Strong professional knowledge and experience across African markets.
• An established professional network across Africa.
• Proven track record in business development, market expansion, and revenue growth.
• Experience driving membership growth and retention or comparable stakeholder growth.
• Strong experience developing and managing strategic partnerships.
• Experience working with employers, government institutions, universities, regulators, or professional organisations.
• Strong B2B sales and key account management experience.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with C-suite executives, government officials, regulators, and other senior stakeholders.
• Strong commercial and business acumen with the ability to identify and develop growth opportunities.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a regional position.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Experience in one or more of the following will be highly relevant:
• Professional membership organisations.
• Professional bodies.
• Education or training organisations.
• Government or non-governmental partnerships.
• Senior committees or governance environments.
